Ride The Google Wheel For Blog Post Inspiration

This first guest post for this wonderful community of Blog Interact I wanted to write a post on Google, I hope you find it helpful and inspiring!

At some point or other as a writer/blogger we will all hit a brick wall and just cannot thrash out an article no matter how much we try and we can all get frustrated, irritable and restless. I for one suffer from this affliction a great deal!

I know that I need to keep writing posts at least once a week which is why I opted to turn my own blog into a multi author blog to take the pressure off, that however doesn’t mean that I should give up writing posts!

So what can we do about this then? I believe we all have our own ways of overcoming this terrible problem for me I just think of a subject to write about, fire up MS Word and start writing what enters this head of mine, of course my way is not the easiest to do but it gets the job done and fast and I usually start getting into a flow of writing after a few mins! Others however turn to other blog posts on the subject looking for inspiration which can be time consuming! Now however I have opted to carrying a little notebook with me so that when a tasty little morsel enters my head I just jot it down!

There is however a little known tool that Google has come out with that they call “The Wonder Wheel”. This is a very useful tool for us bloggers as not only does it provide you with tasty little morsels of inspiration for your posts, it also provides you with lots of very relevant LTK’s for your article!

Elite Men™ Organic Bath & Body

This was introduced in 2009 and we think it was named after the Famous Ferris Wheel on Coney Island of the same name! Wikipedia describes The Google Wonder Wheel as an application which

“Provides the user with a flash based interface having the searched query in the middle and the related queries at its branches. The text based results are still available but shifted rightwards. As the user clicks on the related query, the wonder wheel expands and the results at the right hand side of the page changes. The main aim of the wonder wheel is to guide the user to reach to the relevant resource in an intuitive manner.” (Wikipedia)

So how do you find this wonderful tool and how do you use it? Well for reasons of this post I ran a search on Google for Blog inspiration and this is what I came up with:

So what do you guys think then? Cool tool hey! Not only can it find you sites there on the right but it also proved you with material for your post as well as providing you with long tail keywords for your Blog Post to use as Tags and keywords to enter in the keyword field of your post!

Over to you! What tools do you use for overcoming writers block? Are there any other tips you may have for blog post inspiration! Is there anything you agree or disagree with me in this post? I would love your thoughts! – Phillip Dews

    Phill,
I definitely learned something new on this one. Never heard of the Wonder Wheel. Yes, we all get stuck from time to time. This is an interesting concept and will give it a try. What are your 3 books, where are they available, on your site?

I love this post. I did not know anything about the Wonder Wheel. I am going to check it out and will share your article. I follow bloggers who give daily prompts than pertain to my area of interest for each day of the week that helps when you cannot think of anything.

I find I only have to do that once or twice and I am able to get those creative juices flowing again!

    All the best!

    Robin,
Ar first I thought this post was a little crazy (I’m thinking Coney Island and Hotdogs!), but learned something new myself.

    Phill,
I agree with Abby, you learn something new everyday. I don’t get stumped too often, but I’ll have to check this out for that sake of curiosity. Cool image choices too!

I often look at the related posts on BlogEngage, BlogInteract and similar network to find some idea about a post I’m reading. Google Wheel, Wordtracker Keyword Question and Google Keyword Research are some wonderful tool to build post ideas.
