    Hi Lisa,

Fortunately, since this is what I do for a living, I know the DMOZ rules very well. Here is a quick crash course.

First – They may never accept it (without notification)
Second – There is no time frame. This is clearly noted in their submission rules, and resubmitting the same site under the assumption that this will get it “back in their face”, is pretty much an invitation to have your site dropped from the list without notice.
Third – It can take up to 5 years for the “pro bono” editorial staff to review your site. (Known fact).
MOST IMPORTANT – DMOZ, which was originally based on a directory initiated by Netscape / Mozilla project. The goal was STRICT accuracy. The design is like a family tree.

Root directory branching off to the very final (and very accurate) listing category. If the “editors” feel that you have placed your site in the”wrong category path”, there is no need to submit for another 5 years. True facts!

BTW – We all know how new Google + is with respect to social media. You will find that they are already listed in social media in DMOZ (Money???)
