3 Benefits To Writing Your Own eBook

3 Benefits To Writing Your Own eBook

If you look around the blogosphere, you will probably notice that more and more bloggers launch their own eBooks.

Writing an eBook is a cheap and easy process. You can start today and be done in a month! And the benefits are huge!

Still not convinced? Let me give you three good reasons.

Help People in Your Niche

Have you ever experienced this intense feeling of satisfaction when readers let you know how much your articles have helped them? Well, the same goes for eBooks. Ask authors who have received such messages, and they will tell you!

I have been blogging since 2005, but only consistently for about two and a half years. In 2011, after re-reading some articles on my blog and other blogs, I realized that a majority of the great tools available to bloggers often went unnoticed. The reason is simple. There are too many.

So, I decided to create a comprehensive guide to help my fellow bloggers save precious time, increase productivity, and reach more readers. I regrouped my favorite tools and resources, expounded on some of my best articles, and added updated information. Before you know it, The Little Big eBook on Blogging: 40 Traffic Generation Tips was born!

Establish Your Expertise

If you genuinely want to help readers in your niche, they will help you back in unexpected ways. One of them is word-of-mouth.

Even though bloggers are considered more and more as reliable sources of information, not everyone reads blogs on a regular basis. Actually, a lot of people still prefer perusing content provided in books and / or eBooks.

The day you become an author (published or self-published), the rest of the world (or close to it) looks at you a little differently from before. They suddenly see you as a person with solid knowledge.

Writing an eBook will give your credibility a serious boost and help you become a prominent voice in your field.

Increase Traffic to Your Blog

A great eBook will draw attention to your body of work. It will make people want to know more about you.

They will visit your website and / or blog, read your articles, subscribe to your newsletter, and may end up contacting you to potentially hire you.

Why am I telling you all this? Because, even though The Little Big eBook on Blogging: 40 Traffic Generation Tips has not been released yet (release date is March 6, 2012), my promotional efforts have resulted in a noticeable increase in emails from people wanting to provide guest posts for my blog and inquiring about my services.

Now, can you guess the rest of the story?

Definitely. It is funny how people will assume you are an expert just because your name and face are on the cover of a book.

If you have written a great eBook, you have put a lot of work and effort into it. So, I think you can safely assume you are one. ;-)

    Hi Cendrine,

First congratulations on the new eBook, and also a special thanks for contributing your post. This is the part that struck me the most, as it reminds me of the reason for my doing many things differently.

    Hello Cendrine,
A very inspiring post which will encourage myself and others to ‘have a go at an e-book’. using my blog posts as a starter is a great idea and I shall now start to prepare!
I’ve thought about it for long enough. Thinking doesn’t write it! I know that but…
Thanks for your inspiration and good luck. I love the title!
